Snow Good, Snow Bad

Now that the weather is warming up, I thought it appropriate to ask, DO YOU APPRECIATE THE SNOW? Now, I think we both agree that a simple yes or no is much too vague, so...

Are you someone who makes due with how the world is, no matter how it is, all the time, even if it is full of man eating bees? Ok, I think you get the point. You can deal with it.

  • Or are you someone who hates snow from the first snowflake, to the last puddle, and thinks snow should be illegal (although that’s technically impossible)? Would you rather live in a country where snow is just a myth?

  • Perhaps you are someone who makes up songs to praise the snow (feel free to share), in hopes of making it stay longer? Or you cry when the first green blades of grass poke out of the ground.

I think winter helps me appreciate other seasons. I can be happy when spring comes around and the temperatures rise. But I don’t hate winter either. I find it fun to go skiing, skating, tobogganing etc. Even just stepping outside for a snowball fight is great! So to make things short, I do appreciate the snow, but my parents would be  glad to move somewhere where snow is a myth!

Tell me what you think, and don’t hold back!

  1. I LOVE the snow!!! I think that we should all appreciate all the seasons and pay attention to all the wonderful things mother nature has to offer. Even if you hate the snow, you can still make do with it!!!

For example, I hate Summer. All the noisy insects, hot, sweaty temperatures, and those AWFUL headaches just drive me up the wall, but I still live through it and try to find all the fun, hidden secrets this HOT but nice season has to offer!!!

I agree!!! There are SO many fun activities to do in winter!!! I am such a BIG FAN of winter because I am a Downhill Ski Racer, and the only way to do this sport is if you have COLD,SNOWY temperatures!!! Sledding and Skating are also really fun too, and agian... All you need is SNOW!!! (and maybe some skates and a sled)

One last thing is all the bundling up. It's not my favourite thing to do, but it can also make you feel warm and cozy!!! Besides, when you go inside after trekking through the snow for hours I think the BEST feeling of all is cuddling up, and just relaxing by the fire!!!

Well that's all I have to say!!!

  2. it really depends I guess when the snow first falls it is really nice and fun and especially when it is deep snow. but when you start to get into the end of the snow season and all that is left is dirty cars lots of brown snow piles and all the snow has turned into hard ice chunks.
I love to do lots of sports on ice and snow (hockey skiing ex) but when you are just driving around when all the snow is melting and all you see is brown brown brown is looks really ugly and makes you want to close your eyes.
It is also not very fun when it is - 25 out and you are playing in the snow. It is nice however when it is snowing and it is nice and chilly out but not when the snow piles are pure ice and it is dirty brown everywhere. It just wants to make you go right back inside.
Snow is fun to play in but not when it is all dirty and icy,

  3. Lol that was a really funny blog! :D Your jokes were funnny (I loved the man eating bees part!)

I am a Winter person, I love to go skiing, skating tobogganing too! The snow's fun to play in and have fight's in!

Yes, I do appreciate the snow because it gives us excersize and something to do. Not just sit inside and watch TV.

That's why I appreciate and love the SNOW!

  4. Snow is the BEST! Okay I like summer to, but winter is better. All of the fun activites that you can do. Sledding, scateing, skiing, hockey and snowball fights. All of these are great ways to have lots of fun.

Another reason I love winter is because there are no pesky bugs like mosquitos to dampen your day. Like a hornets nest. You just walk by them and all of the sudden youre hurting all over!

Lasty when you come in with your friends from a shiny game or a snowball fight, you get a big cup of hot chocolate/cocoa or whatever you want to call is. It will always warm you up.

thats all i have to say.

  5. I love the snow. If you're from a snowy place and you hate snow, you obviously have to make do, because you live there! In a place where snow is a myth, everything would extremely hot, because season change would be rare(or at least temperature change) and I would just not enjoy it there.

I always lived here, and enjoy the varying weather. In winter I enjoy playing in the snow. In summer, it is nice and warm, so I enjoy going swimming and going to 711 with my friends to buy a slurpy. Fall and spring are great, because it gives you a warning to put away summer clothes and pull out winter clothes. See what I mean? I think the weather is almost always just right.

Something I don't understand is that why people don't enjoy doing like activities that one can do during these seasons. You can't do them ALL year. In winter, skiing and skating are enjoyable, but once summer comes, it's time to put away the skates and skis and pull out your swimsuit.

  6. I think that snow isn't a bad thing! I still like Summer more but... snows fun and exciting. you can do all those cool sports and stuff. In summer you can do sports too. So if it's summer or winter, you can get exercise. But cold weather... I'm not a fan of. But really hot weather isn't my fav either.

So lets just say I like both! Oh, and my b-day is the first day of summer. That's cool! I like fall too. Fall has the perfect temp!

    I like all the seasons!

  7. I really like snow.It is enjoyable and very fun. When it snows I like to "catch" the snowflakes.Tobogganing, skiing, making forts, snowman and having a snow ball fight is very entertaining.
When your done playing you get to run inside and drink some hot chocolate. The warm drink grows a smile on my face.Putting marsh mellows in my beverage makes it even more delicious.
The only thing I would have against winter is the terrible cold days like -35 to -45 (or worse -50).I like the cool breeze, but sometimes it gets so cold I wish there was no winter and that it would end instantly. When it is to cold to go outside I sometimes look out the window.
Winter makes me very excited for spring for the warm days.Flowers come and wait to blossom. Birds come back and are singing cheerfully. The ground smells sweat and fresh.

  8. I really do agree with you "Mac, music man"! The winter is a great time to enjoy and have fun in the white winter-wonder land outside. There are plenty of things to do so you can't say your bored when there's a new fresh, fluffy layer of snow waiting for you in your back yard!

Just simply take the time to go on a nice family skate, slide down a hill on toboggans, or if your lucky, go to the rocky mountains for some skiing! If you ARE cold dress in layers or you can always warm up when your doing your exercise.

Sadly, though winter is supposed to be just one of the four seasons, it seems as if in Alberta we have two seasons: winter and spring. Some years it's better, others it's not.

You see, I DO appreciate the snow, just not when it lasts for too long. And once the spring comes, I would like to see lush green grass and flowers poking out of the ground. Not the white layer of snow, that I'm getting really tired of seeing. I have mixed feelings about snow. I don't hate everything about it but I don't love it either.

  9. I love winter! I am the kind of person that is sad when the snow melts and wishes I could go some where colder like the mountains. When I go hiking in the summer and see snow at the top of the mountain I want to bring it back done with me and play with it as well as save it for the next winter.

When it is hailing outside I pretend it is snowing and the middle of winter. Sometimes in the summer I get out all of my winter clothing and just look at it!

    I love Winter!
