Palm Room Open to the Public or Not?

In  the past week our class was fortunate enough to go to the Legislature for a week for our Social Studies unit.  On one of the days we were able t go on tours with everyday people that worked there (example – electrician).
One of the things they showed us was the Palm Room.  The Palm Room is the very top floor of the Legislature.  They told us that only they were able to go up there (not even the Premier) and the students from School at the Leg (SATL) were an acception to the rules.  No public allowed.  If you would have made the rules would you have made it possible for the public to go in?  Would you have made a toll booth so people would have to pay for a certain amount of time in the Palm Room?  Or would you lock the doors and throw way the key so nobody can get in, making he room a money waste and dust collector.  Or would you keep the rules the way they are now,  Staff and SATL students only?

Tell me what YOU think.

  1. I think that the legislature was so much fun and I do agree that the palm room should be open to public but only on special days. Like every 2nd thurs:From 6-7. Thats because otherwise there would be to many people, like if it where open on Canada day the thing would fall down(not really) because of so many people trying to get up. If it where open to the public on not special days it should only be guided tours or special guests (like the queen). So what I think is yes but only with guided tours on special days at special time (plus you should pay more)

  2. I had so much fun at the legislature and the Palm room was really cool but as turtle 101 said there would be alot of people. I think people should make registrations and then when they can come up there with someone that works at the leg. so nothing breaks. Then only 2-5 families could go up there (not at the same time) per day. Maybe it should cost 2$ per child 5$ per adult, and Seniors 1$. People with disibilities should come for free.
    What do you think?
